PUMP PERFORMANCE TEST FACILITY

Pump Performance Testing Facility

This Testing Bench is used to quantify the performance characteristics of both new and used pumps
pump test is performed on a new pump to either “size” or “fit” a new pump to a particular application.
This pump test will also assist the technician with failure analysis.
It is important to note that pump tests are preformed using water as the fluid being pumped,
Typical test reports will provide volumetric efficiency and torque at rated pressure.

Pump Testing Equipment

For Conducting Experiments, speed varies from 10% to 125% of 3600rpm for plotting characteristic graphs. Also operate torque sensor to measure torque and speed at input shaft of the pump, therefore determining horsepower and efficiency.
Calibrated flow, pressure, vibration, torque, temperature and speed measuring equipment
Torque couplings provide data to calculate brake horsepower and efficiency

   1. Discharge Vs Head
   2. Discharge Vs. Input power
   3. Discharge Vs. Efficiency

We utilize custom designed PLC based automated pump testing software  This allows all system parameters to be monitored and controlled from a central control station, thus achieving and maintaining specific operating conditions. This enables data from calibrated precision electronic sensors to be collected and recorded for use in determining pump performance.

Standards can be modified to meet specific customer requirements

  • Discharge pressure up to 2,000 psi
  • Test flow up to 7,500 gpm
  • 16,000 gallon supply tank rated from full vacuum to 100 psi
  • 460 volt through 600 HP
  • 4,160 volt over 600 HP through 2,000 HP
  • Variable frequency drive for precise speed control
  • Solid stage soft start for low impact motor starting
  • Test motors through 2,000 HP
  • Calibrated magnetic flowmeters 2″, 6″, & 10″ monitor flow through 7,500 GPM
  • Precision speed measurement (RPM) collected
